Personal Information
A native Nashvillian, I grew up in the East Nashville/Inglewood area and attended public schools through the 7th grade. I attended Goodpasture Christian School starting in the 8th grade, where I graduated in 1978. From there I went to Freed-Hardeman College and earned the BS in Music Education. I began full time teaching in 1983, and have been at David Lipscomb since the Fall of 1984. Prior to coming to DLHS I taught for one year at Christian Home and Bible School in Mt. Dora, FL. After coming to Lipscomb I earned the Masters degree in Vocal Performance at MTSU.
My wife is Donna Moore King from Mississippi. She currently teaches in the Lipscomb University Music Department and is the university carilloneur. We have two sons. Samuel is a 2008 DLHS Graduate, now attending Lipscomb University. Zachary is among the class of 2010 at DLHS and is on the football and soccer teams. We live just a half mile from the campus and attend the Harpeth Hills Church of Christ where I serve as a Worship Leader and Planner.
