Concert Chorus at NPT studio taping "Celebrate America" special.
A "Commitment to Excellence" is the motto of the choral program.
The Choral Program at Lipscomb consists of students in grades 9-12, and represents a cross section of the student body. The Concert Chorus is an auditioned group of 10th-12th grades that have appeared on the American Choral Director's Association State Choral Festival every year since its inception in 1989. They were selected to sing at the TMEA convention in 2009, which was their 5th appearance at this gathering. The Concert Chorus was also chosen by audition to perform at the American Choral Director's Association Southern Division Conference in the spring of 2003 and were one of the featured choirs on the Best of High School A Cappella 2001 & 2002 & 2003 compilation CDs published by the Mainely A Cappella catalogue company. There is also a Freshmen Chorus. These students get an opportunity to try chorus without an audition.
The chorus has several Compact Disc recordings, including "Sing Me to Heaven", "Songs of Triumph!”, "Gloria!", "How Can I Keep from Singing?", "Sing to the Lord", and a live recording of the 2008 Final Concert and the 2009 performance at the TMEA Conference. They are available at concerts and from the music department. Click here to order "Sing to the Lord" and other DLHS Chorus CD. The choruses perform regularly at area churches in addition to special events on campus and annual choral festivals.

For information on either of these groups contact Robert at robert.king@lipscomb.edu or by calling 966-6410.
